In 2002, Michael Cuomo discovered an internal creative inspiration which had remained latent until he began drawing as a means for emotional and psychic therapy. This new awareness and identity sparked his desire to explore his ability as an artist.
The following year, Michael began painting primarily abstract works using various techniques and mediums. “Otto”, a portrait artist who became his mentor and friend, encouraged the young artist to devote his efforts towards creating representational art in order to enhance his skills and talent.
Today, Michael Cuomo’s art ranges in many forms of expression. By exploring different mediums, his diversity gives him strength as an artist who is constantly recreating himself in his work. Michael Cuomo’s focus is to provide art as a vehicle to express spiritual reality in both content and context.
